Are you participating in the housing allowance program?
If you are housed in this program:
- Be sure to complete your annual review forms each year to maintain your eligibility. Housing Connections will confirm if you are still eligible.
- Based on your income, Housing Connections will calculate the allowance amount that will be paid to your landlord on your behalf. Housing Connections will send letters to both you and your landlord with the allowance amount.
- You are responsible for keeping your application for subsidized housing up-to-date. If your information changes, contact Housing Connections to update your application:
- Participating in the housing allowance program does not affect your Housing Connections application. You will keep your place on the waiting list for subsidized housing while you participate in the program.
- Households can receive the allowance for up to five years.
- The program will end in March 2013. Households can stay in their housing allowance units after the program ends, but they must pay full market rent for their unit.
